Effect of γ′particle size on tensile and stress-rupture properties for a directionally solidified superalloy

Abstract

The effect of cooling rate after high temperature solution treatment on tensile and stress rupture properties of a directionally solidified superalloy was investigated The size of γ′particle in the alloy was increased with the decrease of cooling rate after solution treatment Ultimate strengh and stress-rupture life was increased with the decrease of the size of γ′particle in the alloy while tensile elongation δ% was increased.
