        AECC Beijing Institute of Aeronautical Materials (AECC BIAM) was founded in 1956, is one of 156 key construction projects during "the First Five-year Plan"in China.AECC BIAM is one of the largest materials and engineering research center, and is a central scientific and technical research institution fully funded by the State.
         AECC BIAM is a comprehensive scientific research institution in China, facing aviation, engaged in application fundamental re- search of aeronautical advanced materials, development and application technology research of materials, development and delivery of key components and the application in aircrafts. It is a high level materials research and development center serving science and technology industry of national defense, and is the important component of national science technology innovation system and national defense science and technology innovation system.
        After more than 60 years of development, AECC BIAM now grows into a comprehensive scientific research institution, which covers 17 fields with nearly 70 majors, including metallic materials, non-metallic materials, composites and other frontier materi- als, intelligent manufacturing,material properties inspection,characterization and evaluation, and can provide professional ser- vices such as standardization,failure analysis and materials database. AECC BIAM owns 9 national level and 14 provincial and ministerial level laboratories and centers,4 national production demonstration lines, 6 overseas joint research centers,7 industry service platforms, several holding companies, and has trained 4 academicians.AECC BIAM is dedicated to providing customers with an integrated material solution from materials design, selection and manufacturing to inspection and maintenance.
